Atomic Recruitment – Accounting Manager (Machine Tool Manufacturing)

Budget: Up to SGD 9k x 13 Months + Bonus
Location: West Singapore (100% onsite)
Overview
The Accounting Manager will lead the finance and accounting function for the Singapore entity, overseeing financial reporting, costing, compliance, and operational finance support within a manufacturing environment.
This role partners closely with operations and management to ensure strong financial governance, accurate costing, and effective business decision support.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Oversee full-set accounting and month-end closing activities
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with IFRS and group policies
- Manage balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets, accruals, and statutory reporting
- Support year-end audit, tax, and regulatory requirements
- Ensure strong internal controls and accounting governance
2. Manufacturing Finance & Costing
- Support manufacturing cost accounting processes (BOM, routing, direct & indirect costs)
- Monitor inventory valuation accuracy across WIP, warehouse, and parts inventory
- Analyse cost variances (material, labour, overhead) and provide actionable insights
- Work closely with Production and Procurement on cost monitoring initiatives
- Support standard costing reviews and costing updates
3. FP&A & Business Support
- Support budgeting and forecasting exercises
- Prepare management reports and financial analysis for decision-making
- Monitor operational and financial KPIs
- Support profitability analysis across products and business units
- Assist with capex tracking and financial evaluation
4. Team Management & Process Improvement
- Supervise finance executives and accounting staff
- Improve month-end closing efficiency and finance processes
- Support ERP and system improvement initiatives
- Drive reporting automation and process standardisation
- Ensure proper documentation of SOPs and finance controls
5. Compliance & Governance
- Support tax, audit, and statutory compliance matters
- Ensure adherence to company policies and delegation of authority frameworks
- Maintain proper financial records and supporting documentation
- Assist management with risk monitoring and governance initiatives
Requirements
Education & Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline
- Professional qualification preferred (CPA / ACCA / CA)
Experience
- 6–10 years of accounting and finance experience
- Prior experience in manufacturing or industrial environments preferred
- Experience in costing and inventory accounting is advantageous
- Exposure to MNC or structured environments preferred
Key Competencies
- Strong accounting fundamentals and financial reporting knowledge
- Good understanding of manufacturing costing and inventory processes
- Proficient in Excel and ERP systems (e.g. MS Dynamics 365 / SAP)
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Good stakeholder management and communication abilities
- Hands-on, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
