We are partnering with a fast-growing pharmaceutical access platform focused on bringing proven, internationally approved innovative therapies to patients across emerging Asian markets. The company in-licenses clinically validated medicines and leads their registration, market access and commercialization across Southeast Asia. Its growing portfolio spans areas including immunology, oncology and metabolic diseases.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Medical Affairs Manager to lead medical strategy and execution across Southeast Asia for a multi-therapeutic-area portfolio (immunology, oncology, metabolic disease).
This role will build the scientific engagement and KOL infrastructure from the ground up, drive evidence-generation programmes to close local data gaps, and provide medical oversight of Named Patient / early-access programmes ahead of formal launch in several markets. You'll work at the intersection of Medical, Regulatory, Market Access and Commercial, shaping how new therapies are introduced to SEA physicians and patients for the first time.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute regional medical strategies across Southeast Asia, aligned with product lifecycle plans, clinical evidence, regulatory pathways and commercialization priorities.
- Identify, map and develop strategic relationships with KOLs, clinical experts and relevant scientific communities across the region.
- Lead scientific engagement activities, including advisory boards, medical education programmes, scientific meetings and other non-promotional initiatives.
- Identify local evidence gaps and develop evidence-generation initiatives, including Investigator-Initiated Trials (IITs), real-world evidence studies and patient registries.
- Provide medical oversight for Named Patient Programmes (NPPs), early-access and special-access programmes, including physician engagement, patient eligibility review, informed consent and coordination with relevant internal stakeholders.
- Partner with Commercial, Regulatory Affairs and Market Access teams to develop country-specific medical plans and support launch readiness.
- Establish structured processes to capture and translate medical and market insights from KOLs and healthcare professionals into actionable business and medical strategies.
- Review and support scientific and medical materials, publications, congress activities and responses to unsolicited medical enquiries.
- Collaborate closely with Clinical, Pharmacovigilance, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial and Market Access teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Ensure all medical activities are conducted in accordance with applicable regulations, industry codes and internal governance requirements.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Life Sciences or a related scientific discipline. MD, PharmD or PhD is preferred.
- 8+ years of Medical Affairs experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or healthcare industry.
- Experience working across multiple Southeast Asian markets or in a regional role is highly preferred.
- Therapeutic area experience in immunology, oncology or metabolic disease. Experience across multiple therapeutic areas would be advantageous.
- Experience supporting pre-launch activities, Named Patient Programmes, early-access or special-access schemes would be highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to build medical capabilities, processes, KOL networks or new programmes in a lean or evolving organization.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration experience with teams including Commercial, Regulatory Affairs, Market Access and Pharmacovigilance.
- Good understanding of medical governance, compliance and regulatory considerations across Southeast Asia.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage credibly with both external medical experts and senior internal stakeholders.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and ambiguous environment.
- Willingness to travel across the region when required.
