As a Senior HR Generalist, where you'll engage in a mix of HR operations and strategic business partnering. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments and are passionate about driving impactful HR initiatives. Reporting to the VP of Human Resources, Asia Pacific Japan (APJ), you'll play a critical role in supporting managers and employees, implementing HR strategies, and ensuring operational excellence across the region.
Location: This position is open to candidates currently based in Japan with full working rights.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business leaders to align HR support with organizational goals.
- Develop and maintain regional HR programs, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for HR-related inquiries and represent the HR team to employees.
- Partner with global HR teams and Centers of Excellence to implement company-wide initiatives.
- Manage sensitive employee relations cases, including performance management, conflict resolution, and investigations.
- Drive process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of HR operations.
- Support the implementation of global HR initiatives and programs.
- Participate in the creation of HR strategies that foster growth and capability development.
- Oversee the annual salary review process, including promotions, remuneration analysis, and outcome reporting in line with global frameworks.
- Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure seamless recruitment and onboarding.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- 8-10 years of HR operations experience, preferably in the technology sector.
- Strong background in matrixed organizations and working with global teams.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HR practices and local employment legislation.
- A proactive, people-oriented approach with a strong sense of accountability.
- Analytical mindset, comfortable with data-driven decision-making.
- Resilient and adaptable to fast-paced, high-energy environments.
- Fluent in Japanese and English, with strong cultural understanding.
