The Role:

A leading tech company seeking a Senior HR Generalist to join their team in Japan.

This fully remote role, based in Japan, offers a unique opportunity to support the Japan region while collaborating with global leaders. The position focuses on driving impactful HR initiatives in a fast-paced, innovative environment within the high-tech sector.

As a Senior HR Generalist, where you'll engage in a mix of HR operations and strategic business partnering. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments and are passionate about driving impactful HR initiatives. Reporting to the VP of Human Resources, Asia Pacific Japan (APJ), you'll play a critical role in supporting managers and employees, implementing HR strategies, and ensuring operational excellence across the region.

Location: This position is open to candidates currently based in Japan with full working rights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business leaders to align HR support with organizational goals.
  • Develop and maintain regional HR programs, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for HR-related inquiries and represent the HR team to employees.
  • Partner with global HR teams and Centers of Excellence to implement company-wide initiatives.
  • Manage sensitive employee relations cases, including performance management, conflict resolution, and investigations.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of HR operations.
  • Support the implementation of global HR initiatives and programs.
  • Participate in the creation of HR strategies that foster growth and capability development.
  • Oversee the annual salary review process, including promotions, remuneration analysis, and outcome reporting in line with global frameworks.
  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure seamless recruitment and onboarding.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of HR operations experience, preferably in the technology sector.
  • Strong background in matrixed organizations and working with global teams.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR practices and local employment legislation.
  • A proactive, people-oriented approach with a strong sense of accountability.
  • Analytical mindset, comfortable with data-driven decision-making.
  • Resilient and adaptable to fast-paced, high-energy environments.
  • Fluent in Japanese and English, with strong cultural understanding.
