About Our Client

Our client is a Leading Market Player with the Freight Forwarding & Integrated Logistics Solutions space. With long legacy of experience and well-connected infrastructure, they offer a wide range of services to meet the complex and diverse needs of its customers. They are looking for a Head of Contract Logistics to manage their dynamic and large-scale operations across SEA.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

You will lead and develop the contract logistics division, ensuring strategic growth, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Your role will involve managing complex logistics solutions, driving profitability, and fostering innovation within the organization. This position requires a leader who can align logistics operations with the company's overarching objectives, optimize supply chain performance, and exceed customer expectations.

Leadership & Strategy:

  • Define and execute the strategic direction for contract logistics, ensuring alignment with Organization's Regional and Global goals.
  • Lead the development and execution of new business initiatives and expansion plans.
  • Oversee the budgeting, financial performance, and profitability of the contract logistics business.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence in logistics operations.

Operational Excellence:

  • Manage and oversee all contract logistics operations to ensure high levels of productivity and service.
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational success and drive improvement.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of warehousing, transportation, and distribution activities within the logistics division.
  • Optimize the use of technology and automation to enhance logistics processes.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, ensuring high satisfaction levels and long-term partnerships.
  • Understand and respond to customer needs, creating tailored logistics solutions that provide value and flexibility.
  • Lead contract negotiations and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and regulatory requirements.

Team Management & Development:

  • Lead and mentor a diverse team of logistics professionals, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven culture.
  • Develop talent within the team, ensuring robust succession planning and employee development.
  • Drive a commitment to health and safety standards across all logistics operations.

Financial Management:

  • Monitor and manage financial performance, ensuring revenue targets are met and costs are controlled.
  • Oversee pricing strategies, contract terms, and service offerings to ensure profitability.
  • Report on the financial health of the contract logistics division to senior leadership.

Candidate Profile

Our ideal candidate will be one who has most of the below criteria:

  • Ideally Bachelor's Degree or Masters in a relevant field e.g. Business Administration, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Finance
  • Excellent knowledge of business models, objectives, financial metrics, etc. used in decision-making
  • 10 years or more of sales/product/operations progressive experience within the freight forwarding industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
  • Proven track record in managing Contract Logistics solutions and operations
  • Proficiency in logistics management systems, supply chain technology, and industry best practices.
  • Displayed excellent track record of leadership responsibilities
  • Proven ability to define a regional or multi-location growth strategy.
  • Willingness and Ability to travel (primarily within a region) for work
