Principal Engineer - Platform
Purpose of the role:
- This role is key in leading the technical evolution of the Securities Financing franchise.
- The Technology Platform is a key enabler to our business and its ability to provide Securities Financing services to our clients.
- The platform consists of a large scalable multi-cloud hosting infrastructure with the associated features of control, performance, extensibility and security.
- 'It supports a multitude of (largely java based) microservices in support of the business functions and it processes a large quantum of data received from and returned to clients, all in a timely manner.
- The platform operates as a "data factory" and there are numerous opportunities to develop efficiencies, streamline processes and use data as a tool.
- Experience in Artificial Intelligence and/or Data Mining would be beneficial.
The primary responsibility of the Securities Financing Principal Engineer in Guangzhou,
- will be to cut across all engineering teams and provide expertise and guidance to our technologists and increase their impact through software.
- Ensure continual delivery by using your experience and combination of skills to influence and lead key personnel in the delivery of technology solutions that adhere to our Technology's vision.
- You will be drawn to the key initiatives that are the priority of the moment such as a new Cloud hosting platform or the investigation into how to best leverage the vast amount of data at our disposal.
- You will provide positive, hands-on engineering leadership supported by proven experience in expert development, agile delivery and applying the latest technology solutions and architectures from the wider technology community to deliver change with maximum impact.
