Our client is a leading Fashion & Footwear MNC, celebrated its innovative designs and unmatched comfort. They have become a household name with its uniqueness, offering a range of styles that cater to all ages and lifestyles. They currently have established a strong Trading Operations Hub in Singapore, and is looking for a proactive and passionate Sourcing Project Engineer to join the dynamic and forward-thinking team who is committed to creativity and sustainability.


Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and tracking of rubber and plastic sourcing projects.
  • Develop and implement strategies for sourcing materials that meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
  • Identify and drive materials cost-saving projects to improve the overall efficiency and profitability.
  • Conduct cost analysis and negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best possible terms.
  • Manage materials mapping projects to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of all sourced materials.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive materials mapping databases.
  • Oversee data collection processes to ensure accurate and timely information on key materials and vendors.
  • Maintain detailed records of all sourcing activities, including cost, quality, and supplier performance.
  • Generate regular reports on sourcing activities, project progress, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Development, Costing, Manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure alignment on materials specifications and sourcing strategies.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to support new product development and other strategic initiatives.


Candidate Profile
Our ideal candidate will be one who has most of the below criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Supply Chain or Business Administration.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the rubber or plastic related industry, preferably in supply chain, customer (technical) service, or materials engineering background
  • Basic knowledge of rubber/plastic or chemical materials technical or sourcing in general.
  • Ability to read and comprehend Technical Data Sheets and Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities.
  • Proactive business development mindset.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing scenarios and find solutions to achieve assigned goals.
  • Fluent in English, a with proficiency to communicate in Mandarin as a working language with Mandarin-speaking suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel and preferably experienced with SAP.
    Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Willingness and ability to travel abroad up for work team meetings, suppliers meetings and/or industry trade shows
